Passover Cooking Palooza
Sponsored by the Schwartz Family in memory of Rabbi Amanda’s dad Moses Schanfield
Passover is all about freedom and the retelling of the Passover story, and for many, it’s also all about the food! In this virtual cooking class, we’ll be making Charoset from around the world and homemade macaroons.
Additional Details
Many of us have grown up on Ashkenazi Jewish foods (from Central or Eastern Europe). The apple, wine, and nut mixture we eat as charoset is an Ashkenazi take on this Passover staple. Amy Kopkin Atkins will broaden our culinary landscape by making charoset from Sephardi and Mizrahi traditions. Just as Jewish, but maybe not as familiar.
Macaroons: You may know them as small coconut treats that come in a can. Homemade macaroons will blow your mind! With just 5 ingredients, they are easy to make and are leaps and bounds above the canned version. You’ll be proud to serve these at your Passover Seder. In true Judaism Your Way cooking fashion, Amy will give you some variations as well!
Note: Everything we make will be gluten-free and we will discuss substitutions for nut allergies.
Passover Cooking-palooza is generously sponsored by the Schwartz Family.
