High Holiday Cooking
Get a taste of the High Holiday season and learn to make round challah and other Rosh Hashanah treats
Intimidated at the idea of attempting a sweet, round challah for Rosh Hashanah? We are here to help! We will send you the ingredients list (and a helpful how-to video) to make the dough ahead of time (it will need a 2-4 hour rise time). You can show up for the class with your risen dough and we will braid and bake together.
While the challah is in the oven, we will learn how to make Tranches d’Orange au Sirop (Orange Slices Cooked in Syrup). This recipe, with roots in Moroccan and Italian cooking, is an easy way to diversify your Rosh Hashanah table.
Additional Details
High Holiday cooking (and other cooking classes we offer throughout the year) are led by Judaism Your Way’s very own Amy Atkins.
Note: This is not a gluten-free cooking class. The challah recipe contains gluten.
