Judaism Your Way

Changing The World Together

Looking for a way to connect your family to Judaism, community, and volunteering in a hands-on, meaningful way?

Through this family-centered service-learning program, we create community and practice the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world.

Additional Details

Changing the world together (CWT) is a service-learning program for elementary-aged children and their grown-ups to build community, learn about Judaism, and practice the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world through hands-on service projects. We partner with other local non-profit organizations doing transformative work in our community while engaging our Jewish values.

We will have two cohorts: Boulder/North Denver and Denver/South Denver.

The cost of the program is $250 for the year for the whole family.

One primary goal of this program is community building, so families are asked to commit to attending all four CWT sessions. Please think seriously before registering to ensure you can make this commitment.

Program Dates

Each program will take place on a Sunday and will include an interactive service project. Project locations will be announced soon!

September 15, 2024 | November 3, 2024 | March 2, 2025 | May 4, 2025

Boulder / North Denver programs will take place from 10:00 am – 1:30 pm

Denver / South Denver programs will take place from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

We also will have an optional project on MLK day (January 20, 2025) with the Judaism Your Way community – time and location TBD.

Why Focus on Tikkun Olam?

At Judaism Your Way, there are so many ways to do and be Jewish. Tikkun Olam is the Jewish idea that it is important for humans to create the world they want to live in and repair anything that feels broken.

Working toward a more perfect world includes your relationships with others and taking particular care for those people and species who have been harmed.

In this program, we’ll engage in acts of kindness (gemilut chasadim) across a range of issues to help students begin to explore their strengths and passions for creating positive, sustained change in the world.
